It’s Been Awhile…

So in the business of life and day to day activities, I have forgotten to update our site in awhile, my apologies. Since the last update, Taylor and I have brought your four new episodes with another one being released soon, like very soon. We have chatted with the infamous Mr. Anthony Lawson from Australia about Stern’s Guardian’s of the Galaxy, chatted up #1 in the world Zach Sharpe about working at Stern and his creation Stern of the Union (released 12/5/2017), addressed Tommy’s inability to run a successful stream while still having dreams and ideas of unique stream presentations, and covered the Pinball Expo showstopper Pirates of the Carribean by Jersey Jack Pinball! Needless to say, it has been a very busy two months, and although we haven’t recorded as often as we’d like things appear to be getting back on track as winter approaches us. I’ll try to do a better job of getting this updated as episodes release and anything else we have going on. As always thanks for listening and being part of our conversations. Stay tuned for some new content in the next couple of days!

This Flippin’ Stream

Hey everyone,

I’ve recently returned to streaming pinball via our Twitch channel and have also been exporting the streams to our YouTube channel to be saved for convenient watching on your own time. Taylor also streams from his Richmond Pinball Twitch Channel. I recently purchased a new computer using the guide provided by Buffalo Pinball to improve the quality of the stream. I still need to make some adjustments to my cameras themselves for the stream quality, but overall it has a much cleaner and more professional look. This week I have just been running some test streams using The Shadow and will do so again for the next week. Typically I have been going from around 4:00 PM EST to 5:30 EST for the practice.

In the near future, I plan to have a set schedule that will include at least three streams per week. Each stream will feature a different style of play and then you as a follower can tune in to whatever it is that you prefer.

Please stand by with logo

Tuesdays- 7:30 PM (Starting October 3rd) – Lafayette Pinball League from Main Street Amusements

-Every week we will have on a featured game for the league that will be streamed, October 3rd the game will be Avatar LE. After league, myself and probably a few others will jump on and play a bit more. Less chat interaction, but more group/competitive play.

Wednesdays- 7:30 PM (Starting October 4th) – Pinball School

-I will stream from either my home or my location at Jerilee’s Pub. I will provide a brief history lesson of the game, the rules of the game, and then play the game using different strategies. While streaming from Jerilee’s it will be my hope to bring new people into the stream and teach them the game while we play. Ideally lots of chat interaction as well as interaction with individuals learning to play.

Thursdays -Time & Date TBA – Pinner (Pinball + Dinner) and a Movie

This will just be a casual pinball stream where I play some pinball and shoot the shit with whoever wants to hop into chat up movies and pinball and food. I will try to have guests and we will be eating a deliciously cooked dinner while we play. If you’re lucky we will even share the recipe with you live on stream. The idea will be to try and play movie inspired pins, but obviously, this will not always work out. (Idea stripped right from the old TBS show Dinner and a Movie that I used to watch all the time) You want to talk and socialize while you watch some pinball this is the show for you.

Anyway other than that we are recording our new episode tonight and I hope to see a lot of you tuned into streams in the near future. If you have anything special you want us to talk about let us know. -Tommy

TFP Episode 54

Episode 53: Return of Pinburgh Champ Colin MacAlpine

Hey Everyone, hope you had a great weekend! Taylor mixed together this Frankenstein of an episode where we experienced about every technical problem a mediocre podcast can imagine. Luckily we are joined again by Colin, who has set the record for guest appearances on This Flippin Podcast, to discuss his Pinburgh victory, how to spend his winnings, what new pinball machine would we all want to purchase, and much much more! As always send any comments or feedback to thisflippinpodcast@gmail.com and in the meantime go subscribe and review us on iTunes, Stitcher, and Podcast Garden!

Two Years Later…

So Taylor Reese and I (Tommy Skinner) started on this little podcasting journey just over two years ago. We took a common passion in pinball and made it an even bigger part of our lives. Many people don’t realize it but both the hobby and the podcast are what brought Taylor and me together. We didn’t know each other beforehand, we have still only met in person a handful of times, and he is way way way older than I am..but with all that being said I think we have formed quite the partnership over the past two years and along the way we have gotten to meet a ton of great people in this hobby. We get to sit down every couple weeks and just shoot the shit about something we both really love, we just happen to turn on a couple of microphones while we do it.

Anyway, since it has been two years I figured it may be a good idea to finally get us a website. I sit in front of a computer most days and I typically have some extra time on my hands and this will give me just one more place to connect with our show and those of you who enjoy it. I’ve linked to all of our social media accounts and our podcast hosting site. What else will come of this site I have no idea, but I figured it can’t hurt.

We both sincerely thank all of you who listen to our ramblings, who have reached out to us at any time, or who have said hello at a tournament or show. I can’t really tell you how nice it felt to see our shirts being worn at Pinburgh and the number of you who just said hi this year, it really made the best weekend of the year that much more special.

Tonight Taylor and I will record something new for you guys, and as usual, we have no plan, we simply hope when it hits your podcast feed you enjoy it. Thanks for all the support.

-Taylor and Tommy
